Difference b/w Backlinks crawled & backlinks to monitor?

Monthly Backlinks crawled:
The number of times backlinks are allowed to check. The backlink crawl credits will be reset every month. Read to know more about How does crawl credit work?
Total backlinks to monitor:
The total number of backlinks you are allowed to monitor.
We generally set this limit as Total backlinks to monitor = 2 x Monthly Backlinks crawled.
This is mainly implemented so that users don't add a lot of backlinks to our database which are not actively monitored, marking their list as inactive or adding or deleting them
We don't have any limit on the number of inactive lists or number of lists or links that can be deleted as of now.
